Education

In some cases, the burden of stroke may not become apparent until your child starts school and starts fully exercising, thereby engaging more complex motor, emotional and cognitive functions. It is recommended that children who have suffered a stroke in childhood receive an evaluation, if possible by a neuropsychologist, and the school special education program before elementary school starts and every 2-3 years as needed thereafter to address new challenges and needed resources.
